VW Group 3.0L V6 TDI Diesel ECU Tuning

Why Tune the 3.0L V6 TDI Single-Turbo?
3.0L V6 TDI (EA897) — Single-Turbo
Our V6 TDI tuning program delivers real, measurable results — validated on our partnership-accessed 4WD dyno. The VW Group's 3.0L V6 TDI (EA897) is one of the most sophisticated diesel engines ever produced. In single-turbo configuration, it powers an enormous range of vehicles: the Audi Q5 (CUNA), Q7 (CATA/CNRB), A4/A5/A6/A8 (CASA), VW Passat (BUN), Touareg (BKS), Porsche Cayenne (CASA), and Macan S Diesel (CKVB).
Despite the different badges, body styles, and engine codes, they all share the same fundamental EA897 architecture — a single-turbo V6 diesel with significant mechanical headroom. A quality remap transforms towing, touring, and overtaking performance. We carry specific calibrations for each variant.

One Engine Family, Many Premium Vehicles.
The VW Group's 3.0L V6 TDI (EA897) in single-turbo configuration is one of the most widely-used diesel engines in premium vehicles. From the Audi Q5 and Q7 to the VW Touareg and Passat, from the Porsche Cayenne to the Macan S Diesel — they all share the same fundamental single-turbo V6 architecture. The engine codes vary (CUNA, CATA, CNRB, CASA, BKS, BUN, CKVB) but the engine is the same.
At Stealth Installs we understand the EA897 inside out. With significant mechanical headroom over the factory calibration, a quality remap unlocks genuine performance gains across all these vehicles. Whether you drive an Audi, VW, or Porsche, the approach and results are fundamentally the same — we calibrate specifically for each engine code.
The EA897 family also includes a twin-turbo BiTDI variant (CDUC) found in the Audi SQ5 TDI and A6/A7 BiTDI — producing 230 kW and 650 Nm from the factory using a two-stage charging system with a smaller low-pressure turbo and a larger high-pressure turbo. We have a dedicated BiTDI page for those variants. The VW Amarok V6 TDI is also part of this single-turbo family, sharing the same fundamental EA897 architecture.

What We Do for Your V6 TDI
Expert modifications for the EA897 V6 TDI single-turbo platform — across all VW Group models.
ECU Remapping
The V6 TDI responds exceptionally well to remapping. All variants — from the Q5 CUNA (210 kW) to the Touareg BKS (165 kW) — have significant mechanical headroom. Gains of 30–50 kW and 100–150 Nm are typical across all engine codes.
DPF Solutions
The V6 TDI's DPF system can become an issue at higher kilometres, particularly on vehicles used for short urban trips. We advise on and implement solutions that restore performance while keeping your vehicle roadworthy.
EGR Solutions
EGR systems on these engines can cause recurring issues as kilometres build up — rough running, warning lights, and reduced performance. We have solutions to address common EGR problems and restore your engine to running at its best. Give us a call to chat through your options.
Exhaust Systems
A performance exhaust system reduces backpressure on the single-turbo setup, improving turbo spool response and complementing the remap with better throttle delivery. Off-road DPF options available.
Catch Can Systems
The V6 TDI is prone to intake manifold carbon buildup. A quality catch can significantly reduces blow-by contamination, protecting the engine long-term — particularly important on premium vehicles expected to last.
Servicing & Maintenance
Comprehensive servicing for all V6 TDI models. We understand the EA897 engine family — including the timing chain system which requires attention at higher kilometres across all variants.
