Mitsubishi & Nissan 4N16 2.4L Diesel ECU Tuning

How Much Can the Shared 4N16 2.4L Gain with a Tune?
4N16 2.4L 4-Cylinder Turbo Diesel
The Mitsubishi Triton MV and Nissan Navara D27 are both powered by the same 4N16 2.4L turbo diesel engine. Despite wearing different badges, these two vehicles share the same heart — and our tuning program delivers real, measurable results for both, validated on our in-house dyno.
The 4N16 responds exceptionally well to remapping. Gains in torque are immediately noticeable — the engine feels more confident at highway speeds, when overtaking, and on inclines. Fuel efficiency typically improves under light throttle conditions too. Whether you arrive in a Triton MV or a Navara D27, the approach and the results are the same.

One Engine, Two Badges
What many people don't realise is that the Mitsubishi Triton MV and the Nissan Navara D27 share the exact same 4N16 2.4L turbo diesel engine. Mitsubishi and Nissan partnered on this powertrain, so despite being different vehicles from different manufacturers, the engine — and its tuning potential — is identical.
Our team has tuned and modified many of both vehicles at our Salisbury workshop. We know exactly what the 4N16 responds to and how to safely unlock its potential while keeping the engine running reliably for the long haul. Whether you drive the Triton MV or the Navara D27, you're getting the same expertise and the same results.

What We Do for Your Triton MV or Navara D27
Every modification chosen and optimised for the shared 4N16 platform.
ECU Remapping
The 4N16 responds exceptionally well to remapping. Gains in torque are immediately noticeable — the engine feels more confident at highway speeds, when overtaking, and on inclines. Fuel efficiency typically improves under light throttle conditions too.
Exhaust Systems
A free-flowing 3" stainless exhaust system reduces turbo backpressure, improving spool and unlocking more of the engine's potential when paired with a remap. Off-road DPF options available.
Intercooler Upgrades
Upgraded intercoolers keep charge temperatures down under sustained load — essential for towing in summer or sustained highway driving in South Australian heat.
Catch Can Systems
The 4N16 produces blow-by that contaminates the intake over time. A quality catch can is inexpensive insurance against inlet manifold buildup and long-term engine wear.
Suspension Upgrades
Lift kits and upgraded suspension for the Triton MV and Navara D27 — whether you need extra clearance for off-road work or better load-carrying capacity for touring.
Accessories & Builds
Bullbars, side steps, canopies, auxiliary lighting, drawer systems, and dual battery setups. We build both vehicles ready for work or adventure.
