Nissan Navara D40 V9X 3.0L V6 Diesel Tuning

How Much Power Can the V9X V6 Gain with a Remap?
V9X 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel
The V9X is a 3.0L V6 turbo diesel co-developed with Renault — a seriously capable engine that produces strong factory output but still has meaningful gains available through tuning.
A custom remap on the V9X delivers impressive mid-range torque and throttle response improvements. Being a V6, it's smoother and more refined than the 4-cylinder YD25, making it an excellent platform for towing and touring.

The V6 Work ute — Unlocked
The V9X-powered D40 (often badged as the STX-550) was sold from 2010 to 2014 and offered a significant step up in power and torque over the YD25. The 3.0L V6 turbo diesel produces 170 kW and 550 Nm from the factory — already strong, but there's more to be had.
At Stealth Installs we understand the V9X platform and its unique characteristics. Whether you're towing heavy loads or building a touring rig, we know exactly what the V6 D40 needs to perform at its best.

What We Do for Your D40 V6
Proven modifications for the V9X V6 platform.
ECU Remapping
The V9X V6 has excellent tuning potential. A custom remap delivers stronger mid-range torque, sharper throttle response, and improved towing capability — all while maintaining reliability.
Intercooler Upgrades
Keeping charge temps under control is essential on a V6 diesel, especially under sustained load. An upgraded intercooler maintains performance and protects the engine when towing or touring.
Exhaust Systems
A quality exhaust system reduces backpressure on the V9X turbo, improving spool response and freeing up the mid-range. Off-road DPF options available for touring builds.
Catch Can Systems
The V9X produces blow-by that can contaminate the intake over time. A catch can is essential preventative maintenance to protect the V6 engine and its intercooler.
Suspension Upgrades
The V6 D40 is often loaded up for work or heavy towing. We build correct-rate suspension that handles real loads while maintaining ride quality and safety.
Accessory & Touring Builds
Bull bars, dual battery, canopies, drawers, lighting — we build complete D40 work and touring vehicles suited to Australian conditions.
