Transmission Coolers

Cheap peace of mind for towing and heavy-duty use

Transmission Coolers

Transmission Coolers

Salisbury, Adelaide

A transmission cooler is almost a must-have on any four-wheel drive that tows heavy loads for extended periods of time, or any vehicle that spends high amounts of time in high temperatures going up hills. It's a really, really good recommendation — especially when it comes to the longevity of your transmission.

And the HPD ones that we always use? They fit great, they're really high quality, and they look so nice. It's a cheap piece of mind that is well worth its money.

The Problem

Most 4WDs don't have an external trans cooler dedicated just for the transmission — and that creates real risks.

High Oil Temperatures

Without a dedicated external trans cooler, the transmission oil runs at a higher temperature than it should. Over time, this degrades the oil and puts unnecessary stress on your transmission — shortening its life and increasing the chance of failure.

Catastrophic Failure Risk

Most 4WDs use a heat exchanger between the engine coolant and the transmission fluid. If something catastrophic happens and that heat exchanger fails, coolant and transmission fluid mix together — and that's an absolute catastrophe for the vehicle. Often meaning a full transmission rebuild or replacement.

The HPD Solution

HPD Transmission Coolers

The HPD transmission coolers we always use just fit great, they're really high quality, and they look so nice. A dedicated external transmission cooler eliminates the risk of coolant and transmission fluid mixing, keeps your oil temperatures down, and protects your transmission for the long haul.

It's a cheap piece of mind — especially for vehicles that tow, especially for vehicles that get pushed. Even for vehicles that don't get pushed, it's still a really good upgrade that is well worth its money.

Why Install a Trans Cooler?

Lower Oil Temps

A dedicated external trans cooler keeps your transmission oil at a safe operating temperature, even under heavy load.

Transmission Longevity

Heat is the number one killer of automatic transmissions. Lower temperatures mean a longer-lasting, more reliable gearbox.

Catastrophe Protection

Without a dedicated cooler, a heat exchanger failure can mix coolant and transmission fluid — an absolute catastrophe for your vehicle.

Peace of Mind

It's a cheap piece of mind — especially for towing vehicles. Even for vehicles that don't get pushed, it's still well worth the money.

Transmission Coolers: Protecting Your Auto on the Tow

Heat is the number-one killer of automatic transmissions. If you tow, your gearbox is running hotter than the manufacturer intended — and at high temperatures, the fluid breaks down and components start to fail. A dedicated cooler is cheap insurance.
